Some of our favorite resources out in the wild
NorthWest Recumbent Cycles
Our favorite purveyor of almost a dozen different brands and he just happens to be in our backyard. Gary does some truly amazing things from his location in Post Falls, Idaho. He specializes in building accessible recumbents so that anyone can enjoy the fun. Head over to his site and read the newspaper article, Just an amazing gift, on his Testimonials page and you’ll know why we think he’s a saint. Call first if you’re thinking about stopping by.
Pacific NorthWest Recumbents (PNWR)
The big mac daddy club out of Portland, Oregon. They host the Recumbent Retreat in Fort Stevens, which is heading into its 25th year! From their website: “PNWRC – (formerly Oregon Human Powered Vehicles) – Recumbent bike club based in Portland, Oregon but happy to welcome those living in the Pacific Northwest. Mostly recumbent bike and trike riders, but we like any human powered vehicles. We also welcome those with e-assist.”

The Recumbent Retreat, the oldest recumbent gathering in the country, is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year! It brings riders together from all over the country and is an absolute must on your dance card. Check out last year’s highlight reel including footage from the lighted bike parade!
“Recumbent Retreat is about having fun, sharing our common interest of riding recumbent bikes and trikes. Enjoying beautiful Fort Stevens and the surroundings. Spending time riding together. Sharing a potluck dinner. Bringing smiles with the lighted bike parade. Thrilling treasure hunt and raffle.”

And while we’re on the topic of YouTube videos, you have to binge watch Sylvia’s channel, Travels by Trike. Sylvia has taken her trike, Myrtle, around the world—just her and her trike! And she’s off and pedaling again, getting ready to head out on a 9,000 mile cross country tour.
She also has an online diary going back to when she first started her adventures in 2007. Check out her blog to live vicariously through her travels to Mexico and more.
BentRider Online (BROL)

BentRider Online is the go-to place for all things recumbent: Message boards, articles, podcasts, reviews, and more. It’s a great place to lose yourself for awhile!
